Mamallapuram

Famously known as Mahabalipuram, It is a town in kancheepuram, TN. Mahabalipuram is one of the world heritage sites. Went on a day trip here, it is about 60km from Chennai. Mahabalipuram is known for its architecture. This was built in 7th century during pallava dynasty. The main highlights of this place are Arjuna's penance, The Shore temple (a structural temple along the Bay Of Bengal), Pancha Rathas. Most of the monuments here are rock cut and monolithic.
